Army West Point Athletics

Assistant Athletic Director – Digital Marketing
01/20 - Present

• Serve on external leadership team to develop ongoing strategy, messaging, and to maximize staff workflow efficiencies for all revenue generating initiatives.

• Conceptualize & generate campaigns targeting ticket sales, leads & donations, as well as fan and donor communications through marketing automation (email marketing), advertising, paid social, and organic digital means. This includes the build of all creative assets including coding, graphics, video, copywriting in addition to tracking measurement of performance analytics (KPIs).

• Collaborated with external leadership team on COVID-19 financial relief initiatives to produce more than $2.6 million in new additional fundraising revenue during the pandemic operational shut down.

• Develop messaging and solicitation assets to launch $125 million major gift campaign for the Michie Stadium Preservation Project.   

• Oversee the external launch process of the annual Army-Navy Game uniform campaign (established in 2016) in collaboration with Nike and the USMA History Department to maximize reach, exposure, and historical awareness.

 

Assistant Athletic Director – Marketing
05/18 - 01/20

• Oversaw marketing and fan experience functions related to all ticketed sports.

• Served on our external leadership team focused on collaboration in sales strategy and messaging amongst our development, marketing, and ticket offices to result in over $5.5 million in football ticket revenue in 2019, a 17% increase and new revenue record from the previous non-premium year.

• Part of a team that generated $8.3 million in annual fund donations in 2019, the most ever in a calendar year at Army West Point.

• Upgraded email marketing workflow and strategy to increase direct response revenue generated by over 214% for 2019.

• Oversaw and managed a $250,000+ advertising budget for ticketed sports including full strategy and build of creative assets.

• Implemented Adobe After Effects use within organization to enhance capabilities on social media content and in-venue videoboard/digital signage use. This included training multiple departments including marketing, video, and communications. 

• Launched marketing initiatives in securing, planning, and executing a Dierks Bentley and Dustin Lynch concert at Michie Stadium.

• Maximized resources and efficiencies while overseeing full time staff of one.

 

Associate Director – Marketing
01/17 - 04/18

• Designed marketing and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite to include graphics (static and motion), videos, flyers, etc. with a primary focus on revenue generating initiatives and sponsorship fulfillment.

• Oversaw department social media strategy to maximize organic reach.

• Collaborated with Learfield IMG College in conceptualization and creation of co-branded sponsorship digital campaign elements.

• Implemented the first in-house creative content position as a subset of the marketing department and led the search process in hiring.

• Built ArmyGameday.com to increase fan communications, generate leads and increase SEO ability to capture top organic search terms to increase ticket revenue.

• Built department branding microsite (hosted as GoArmyWestPoint.com/Brand) to increase internal efficiency and enforce branding standards within the department.

• Planned, managed, and executed all marketing functions related to hockey, men’s & women’s lacrosse, Olympics sports, with the secondary role in football and men’s & women’s basketball.

• Coordinated game presentation including scripting, creation of videoboard content, music, presentations, and sponsorship fulfillment.

• Oversaw all operational aspects related to the football pregame fan-fest including recruitment and management of game day interns.

• Led organic growth strategy and content creation for department’s primary social media accounts.

• Spearheaded digital launch in the athletic department rebrand process for a new unifying brand and logo in conjunction with Nike.

• Assisted with marketing & branding efforts for Army Sports Properties (sponsorship), Army A Club (fundraising) and the Aspire Group (group sales).
